Luxurious Living Quarters

This project was for a couple living in Bristol, RI. Previously, it was a building for two families, but one family was leaving, so the remaining couple decided to renovate and take advantage of the newly expanded space available to them. On the ground floor, the main living quarters became perfect entertaining space with a long dining table and spacious seating area. On the other side of the house, they decided to keep the second kitchen/parlor area. Other spaces on the ground floor included a new guest bedroom, laundry, and a studio for the wife to do her jewelry-making. The middle hallway between what used to be the two units became storage, mostly for food. Meanwhile, upstairs the original master bedroom and bath remained. The bedroom and bathroom space in the other unit was reworked. They wanted an elevator on this side, because they worried that one day they would have limited mobility. The space in the middle became a huge walk-in closet and vanity area, and an office. Additionally, a zoning study was carried out because they wanted to add an additional building on the premises - (the brand new two-car garage with storage above.) As seen in the elevations, the historical character of the building was maintained.
